About Balasaheb Deoras Rugnalay

Inspired by the vision of Balasaheb Deoras Rugnalay in Kondhwa, Pune Vaidyakiya Seva va Sanshodhan Pratishthan was established in 2018. This trust operates under The Maharashtra Public Trusts Act and is inspired by RSS. As an initial initiative towards establishing the Rugnalaya, the trust launched a polyclinic named 'Balasaheb Deoras Polyclinic & Diagnostic Centre' filling a critical gap in healthcare services in the Eastern Region of Pune. Over the past 4-5 years, this center has not only gained widespread recognition but has also become highly esteemed across all segments of society. This valuable experience has enabled us to discern the healthcare needs of the local population, leading us to assemble a dedicated team of medical professionals. Presently, our team comprises over 30 doctors and support staff who specialize in various medical disciplines.

We want to leverage this team and their experience, along with other trustee members and numerous volunteers to take this journey to the next level and create a world-class, affordable hospital Balasaheb Deoras Rugnalay.

Our Inspiration: Shri Balasaheb Deoras

Shri Balasaheb Deoras was the Third Sarsanghchalak of Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), a renowned activist, and organizer par excellence. He was the man who added the dimension of social service to the RSS and created a formal structure of Seva Karya to carry forward the various service activities across the country, especially in remote and inaccessible areas. He announced the creation of "Sewa Vibhag" & launched more than 5000 service projects. Today, this section has inspired organizations that run lakhs of such multi-faceted service projects all over the country ranging from health to education and from bio-farming to village development. He was passionate and committed to an egalitarian society. He promoted social harmony. He was imprisoned in Pune during the Emergency (1975 – 77). He passed away in Pune in 1996.
